I had a V-Strom 1000 last year, and liked it a lot. I have a 29 inseam, and had absolutely no trouble. The 1000 sits 1" higher than the 650, only because the seat itself has more foam (and is also more comfortable). The 1000 seat is pretty good. The 650 seat is lousy. Anyway - you'll have no trouble with the height.

Since I am vertically challenged I wound up buying a Corbin dished seat for the KLR which put it about 1 1/2 inches lower or 33 1/2 inches seat height. I was able to get the balls of both feet on the ground and felt pretty.
