I'd like to explore my boost options for a 2015 A6 SS to make up the atmospheric pressure difference and then some. 450-500 at the wheels sounds good for a street car and longevity of the engine and trans. The car will not be raced, just a fast daily driver.

The whipple also seems to have a better relationship with cooler iat's. Riddle me this: what's the goal for the car and then we can give corresponding advice.

Mechanic recommended a maggie TVS2300. I think, with only a 6lb boost, it shouldn't do any damage, but any thoughts on this vs a Whipple ?

Head to head comparison between the 3.0 Whipple and the Magnuson 2650 is pretty close im told. Im waiting on Magnuson to come out with their 3.0. He has no front seat and no rear seats and does run Nitrous but not when he went 9.11 @ 150 mph tho. Im sure he has light weight rotors, battery as well.

Thats really impressive. I wonder if the Magnuson 3.0 will out perform the Whipple 3.0. Probably close im betting if its ever released smh. I was entertaining the Whipple 3.0 for my Trackhawk but they said it was like a 6-8 month wait so I opted for the 2650. Its just my DD tho. Thats incredible tho a 100 hp improvement with less boost. Win-win.

A tvs2650 ( harrop ) is bigger then a tvs1900 ( magnuson ) both are roots chargers, whipple is a twin screw charger so will be more 'efficient' and capable of making big numbers. Big difference in the two. . . 1) The Whipple is a real Supercharger as it compresses the air internally. This allows the Whipple to generate and hold much higher Pressure Ratios then the Magnuson can. 2) The Magnusun is simply a larger version of the Eaton TVS 'Roots Style' Blower that comes on our cars.

The magnuson is probably the most friendly to the install it and forget it type of user. The Harrop and Whipple have a definite appeal to those who like to tinker. All can make plenty of power with some additional mods to break stuff though. I ultimately chose the Harrop for a lot of the reasons you mentioned.
